The Janus kinase (JAK) is a master regulator of the JAK/STAT pathway. Dysregulation of this signalling cascade causes neuroinflammation and autoimmune disorders. Therefore, JAKs have been characterized as an attractive target for developing anti-inflammatory drugs.
