Object and purpose of research. The object of investigation is the scale effect on propulsion performance of modern cargo/passenger vessels. The purpose is to estimate the scale effect on propulsion performance of a twin-shaft cargo/passenger vessel (CPV). Materials and methods. A method is suggested for predicting the ship propulsion performance based on model test data. This method works for single- and twin-shaft vessels. Main results. The method suggested for ship performance prediction based on model tests is shown to have a similar quality as compared to the best techniques for performance prediction of single-shaft ships.
