Flow cytometry is a technique developed since the 1970s, which allows the identification and counting of cells suspended in a liquid. Despite some limitations, this technique has many advantages such as speed of analysis, diversity of samples that can be analysed, quantitative results as well as a cost similar to the analyses traditionally used. In veterinary medicine, and particularly in oncology for the diagnosis of lymphomas and leukaemias, flow cytometry allows a more precise diagnosis, by determining the type of lymphocyte involved (T or B), as well as the presence or absence of a certain number of markers which give valuable information, particularly on the expected prognosis. The results are obtained more quickly than with light micr...
