Dr. Gloria Tinubu discusses what her life was like growing up living in Brookgreen Gardens until age 4 and her family’s move to Plantersville in Georgetown County, South Carolina. She mentions her education and how her time at both her elementary school and Choppee High School influenced her outlook of life culturally. Dr. Tinubu is an accomplished scholar and economist who was the first African American woman to receive an MS in Agricultural Economics from Clemson, as well as a BC in applied Economics. She also served on the Georgia general assembly and on the Atlanta city council and was also a candidate for Atlanta mayor.
