U radu su prikazane metode digitalne obrade slike koje, slijedno primijenjene, omogućavaju detekciju i praćenje poplavljenih površina korištenjem satelitskih snimki dobivenih radarom sa sintetičkom aperturom (SAR) sa satelita Sentinel-1 na studiji slučaja poplave u vrgoračkom kraju, tijekom studenog i prosinca 2020. godine. Metoda se temelji na raspršenju polariziranog radarskog vala na vodenim površinama.
