Diagnóstico situacional do gerenciamento de resíduos químicos dos laboratórios do Centro de Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde na UFS

Human development is accompanied by an increase in the waste production, which generates different types of impact, both on the environment and on the life of the population in general. There are several types of waste produced, among which we can highlight health waste and chemical waste. Due to their great risk to people's health and the environment, they should receive greater attention with regard to their handling and final disposal. This work aims to perform the situational diagnosis of chemical waste management at the Center for Biological and Health Sciences (CCBS) at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS). A data survey was carried out, identifying the types of waste that are generated, the way they are stored and collected in the institution's laboratories and compared with findings in the literature, through bibliographic research and legislation documentary research, which indicate the efficient ways of manage these substances. From this, identifying the errors that are currently being practiced in the handling of these products and proposing the foundation of a Commission for the Management of Chemical Residues produced by CCBS, as well as the creation of manuals, which point out the correct way of separating the substances, if they have incompatibilities, the selection of suitable containers, filling in a chemical form for the labeling of these residues and their characterization, lists of residues that can be disposed of in the sink or common garbage, those that can be reused and those that need to be collected by a company outsourced to give you the proper final destination. In addition, a greater participation of the Internal Commission for Accident Prevention (CIPA) was proposed in this management.O desenvolvimento humano é acompanhado do aumento da produção de resíduos, que geram diversos tipos de impacto, tanto ao meio ambiente, quanto à vida da população em geral. São diversos os tipos de resíduos produzidos, dentre eles podem-se destacar os resíduos de saúde e os resíduos químicos. Devido ao seu grande risco à saúde das pessoas e ao meio ambiente, esses devem receber uma maior atenção no que se refere ao seu manejo e descarte final. Esse trabalho tem como objetivo realizar o diagnostico situacional do gerenciamento de resíduos químicos do Centro de Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde (CCBS) da Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS). Foi realizado um levantamento de dados, identificando os tipos de resíduos que são gerados, sua forma de armazenamento e de recolhimento nos laboratórios da instituição e comparado com achados na literatura, através de pesquisa bibliográfica e pesquisa documental da legislação, que indicam as formas eficientes de realizar o manejo dessas substancias. A partir disso, é necessário identificar os erros que atualmente estão sendo praticados no manejo desses produtos e propondo a fundação de uma comissão para a gestão de resíduos químicos produzidos pelo CCBS, como também a criação de manuais, que apontem a forma correta de separação das substâncias. Observando se possuem incompatibilidades, a seleção de recipientes adequados, o preenchimento de uma ficha química para rotulagem desses resíduos e sua caracterização. Dessa forma, elaborar listagens dos resíduos que podem ser descartados na pia ou lixo comum, dos que podem ser reaproveitados e os que precisam ser recolhidos por uma empresa terceirizada, para que se dê o seu destino final adequado.
