Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) has been identified as an enabler for the adoption of Additive Manufacturing (AM) as a mainstream manufacturing technology and efforts have been made by researchers to classify DfAM knowledge to enable designers to understand the knowledge required to design for AM. Having gained an understanding of the knowledge required for design for AM, and due to the dynamics in the evolution of AM technology, the next step is to uncover how designers learn and want to learn design for AM by investigating their preferred learning media.
