This work addresses 75 years of the ups and downs of British naval power since the Second World War. It assesses the mixed impact of the Second World War on the Royal Navy, before taking the reader through the Navy's relationship with the atomic and nuclear ages, its mixed fortunes in Defence Reviews, before addressing its key role in the retaking of the Falkland Islands in 1982 and it subsequently spearheading most British military operations since then to the present
