Indian Bustard (Ardeotis nigriceps) popularly known as the Great Indian Bustard (GIB), is one of the critically endangeredbirds in the world. The Great Indian Bustard (Ardeotis nigriceps) or Indian Bustard is a bustard found in India and theadjoining regions of Pakistan . An estimated less than 300 individuals are reported to be surviving sporadically in differentparts of the country. The GIB is categorized as ‘critically endangered' under the IUCN Red List and listed in Schedule I ofthe Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 .
