Adoption Of Dea Model For Evaluating Productive Efficiency In Offshore Hand-line Fishing In Khanh Hoa Province

This study uses the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) adjusted model to analyze the pure technical efficiency, scale efficiency and profitability of offshore hand-line fishing in Khanh Hoa province. The study results show that the current vessels which are receiving the largest support from the Government  have the lowest profitability and most waste of inputs. Offshore fishing development by supporting large capacity ship building must be accompanied by strategies of developing fishing. It is superficial and wasteful if the Government supports offshore fishing based solely on vessel capacity. We need more research to determine that the offshore fishing needs support and the vessel segments  that are in need of support
