In this paper, solution and solid state methods for the identification of TCNQF4, TCNQF4.- and TCNQF42- redox levels (TCNQF4 = 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-7,7,8,8- tetracyanoquinodimethane) are described. UV–Vis spectroscopy and (cylic voltammograms) electrochemistry can be used for both qualitative and quantitative determinations of TCNQF4 and its anions at liquid state. UV-Vis spectra show highly characteristic absorption maxima ofTCNQF4and the anions. Electrochemical characteristic of TCNQF4 andanions in solution can be distinguished by comparing the voltammogram with zero current.
