Historically, the THz domain of the electromagnetic spectrum has been difficult to access. During the past three decades, many technical advances have been made allowing the creation of THz radiation sources and detectors. These advances made it possible to discover the numerous potential applications of THz frequencies. But to this day, there is still a lack of high-performance, compact and cost effective sources and detectors that would be suitable for industrial applications.In this thesis we study the generation of THz radiation by two lamellar nanostructures.The first structure studied is a microcavity made using nanometric layers of AlGaAs alloys.
