There are pharmacological treatments such as Alen-dronate (AL), Denosumab (DMAB), and Teriparatide (PTH) that help on reducing these fractures. Depending on their mechanism of action, they improve the bone mineral density (BMD) of either the cortical or the trabecular bone.
