The aim of this paper is to explore the learners´ beliefs regarding vocabulary learning. It analyses the results of a survey and two vocabulary tests carried out at three secondary schools in Córdoba, two state-run and one private school. It further aims at establishing connections between the learners? beliefs and their performance in the tests.
