Patchwork city: multifunctional generic initiatives in the historical peninsula

This is achieved by creating places where urban activities, architecture, and a wide variety of users mix. Istanbul, one of the oldest cities on the continent, is slowly losing this dimensionality. The megapolis is facing segregation and alienation which leads to the formation of fragments with a single function. Many have lost their main functions and have turned into tourist attractions, rather than places that meaningfully interact with the city. They have lost their unpredictability, and are now mundane places devoid of significant activities. This situation raises the following questions: What to do with fragments of the already shattered city? How to reactivate? How to create a system instead of disconnected entities? As a response to such concerns, generic items have been created, each with a specific action. Mixing them and strategically adding them as a new layer to the city will activate these spaces in a multi-dimensional way. This will make single-functional patches reactive while simultaneously creating fragmented urban initiatives
