UPAYA GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MENINGKATKAN MINAT BELAJAR SISWA DI SMK MUHAMMADIYAH 2 KOTA MALANG

The efforts of Islamic education teachers in increasing student interest in learning at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Malang are that the reality in the field is still far from existing expectations. There are still many students who have difficulty in understanding and accepting the material explained by the teacher. This study aims to determine the teacher's efforts in increasing student interest in learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Malang, to find out the obstacles faced by teachers in an effort to increase student interest in Islamic Religious Education at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Malang. This research method is a descriptive qualitative approach using field research, data collection instruments used are interviews addressed to PAI teachers and several students. Analysis of the data used by systematically compiling data and organizing it then selecting and describing and drawing conclusions in an inductive way, namely from a problem that is specific in nature and conveyed in a general way. From the results of the research conducted, it can be stated that the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in increasing student interest in learning are still lacking, while the efforts made by teachers to increase student interest in learning at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Malang: provide advice or motivation to students to always follow learning activities and provide fun learning by doing interactive learning such as question and answer and discussion between groups so that learning is not saturated and can be followed by all students so that there is a change in students' interest in learning in the process of teaching and learning activities. This illustrates that the efforts made by teaching teachers in learning Islamic religious education are able to increase interest in learning during the PAI learning process.
