EFEKTIVITAS UNITED NATION WOMEN DALAM MENJALANKAN PROGRAM SAVE CITIES FREE DI INDIA PADA TAHUN 2017-2021

In almost every country, women experience many kinds of violence. One of the most prominent countries with violence against women is India. The number of sexual violence against women in India continues to increase so that one of the international organizations UN Women takes part in reducing the number of sexual violence in India. One of the programs launched by UN Women is Safe Cities Free. In carrying out the program, UN Women collaborated with one of the NGOs in India, namely Jagori. The purpose of this study is to measure the effectiveness of UN Women in running the safe cities free program in India in 2017-2021. The research method used by the author is descriptive qualitative. The theory used is the effectiveness of international organizations proposed by Frank Biermann and Steffen Bauer. In this research, the author uses a literature study of secondary data originating from relevant sources such as journals, books, thesis/dissertation, internet. The results of this study indicate that UN Women has not been effective in carrying out its program in India because until 2021 the number or rate of sexual violence against women in India is still increasing, and sexual violence against women is still happening in the public sphere
