On some farms it's pushing salt uphill

Article outlines farmers throughout Australia becoming increasingly aware of the insidious soil salinity problem, with many farmers are trying to do something about it. At Koorda, the Henning family has attacked the salt problem using a scheme devised by Harry Whittington, of Brookton to try to save their land. Since the Hennings started their project, the property has been visited by many farmers whose land is similarly affected. A seminar held across three days visited three farms where salt land reclamation is in operation. At Harry Whittington's farm, the party saw the results of years of using the scheme, while at the Hennings property, they could see the project still in its infancy. The third property was Les Bear's farm, 45 kilometres north of Dowerin where 30 hectares are lost each year.
