Linguistic Analysis of Word Formation Processes in English in the Light of 'Covid' Being the New Coinage that Defined 2020

The study attempts to explore word formation processes in English such as coinage, borrowing, compounding, blending, clipping, backformation, conversion, acronym and derivation. The outbreak of Covid-19 from a linguistic point of view is strictly connected with the emergence of Covid-19's coinages establishing a trending base of global neologisms.
