Introduction: Rectal prolapse is a relatively common disorder in childhood. In this phenomenon, the whole layers of the rectum protrude throughout the anus. Self-limiting cases of rectal prolapse are more common in children below four years old, and overall prevalence is higher in the first year of life, with a predominance of male children.
