DEVELOPING LISTENING SKILLS OF THE ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS THROUGH WATCHING ENGLISH MOVIE

The purpose of conducting this research was to find out whether the students’ listening skills can be developed by the application of watching English movie or not. This research was using intact group research design. The population of this research was the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Palu. The researcher took the students in the eleventh grade by using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by using post-test. The result of the data analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the result of experimental group and control group. It was proved that the result of t-counted (6.36) was greater than t-table (1.994). It means that the research hypothesis was accepted. Hence, it can be concluded that the application of watching English movie can develop listening skills of the eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Palu
