THE EFFECT OF UNO GAMES FOR SPEAKING SKILL AT THE SEVENTH GRADERS SMP N 14 JAMBI CITY

The research's objective was to see whether there were any significant effect and differences between students who were taught using the Uno games media and those who were taught using Group Investigation in terms of speaking accuracy in terms of vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar.The method of this study was a quasi-experimental research. Two of his classes designed for quasi-experimental research were used and two different methods were taught.the control class was taught with Group investigation and the experimental class was taught Uno games media. the number of students in the seventh grade SMPN 14 kota Jambi the sample were 42 students.This research was conducted with a purposive sampling. This reasearch was conducted by the following method.: giving pre-test, applying treatments, and giving post-test. The data analyzed in this research was gathered through speaking test, after getting the score from the oral test, it was analyzed and processed by using statistic data calculation of T-test formula by using SPSS. The result of the research proved that there was a difference score between students‟ score in learning speaking accuracy by using Uno games media and by using Group Investigation. According to the result of statistical calculation it can be seen that mean score of post-test in experimental class was 76.26 and the mean score of post-test in control class was 66.00. The value of t- test was higher than the ratio on t-table (-3.432 < 2.021). Therefore, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted.In conclusion, Uno games media can be used to teach seventh graders at SMPN 14 Kota Jambi speaking proficiency
