ABBREVIATIONS USED IN BASE OHMYBEAUTYBANK ON TWITTER

This thesis aims to discuss type of abbreviations, and to know the process of forming the abbreviatons used in base ohmybeautybank on twitter. The researcher analyzed a tweet on base ohmybeautybank account written by sender. To answer the problem of research, the researcher used two theorists these are, Schendl theory, and the process of forming the abbreviations used theory by Kridalaksana. This research used qualitative descriptive analysis. The source of data in this research is tweet in the base ohmybeautybank account. The researcher analyzed forty seven tweets, for the technique of collecting data, the researcher used documentation, and for technique analysis data used descriptive analysis technique. The result of this research showed that: First, from forty seven tweets had been analyzed, the researcher found fourteen data clipping, six data blends, six data contraction, and then twenty one data initialism type. As the result, initialism type that dominant used sender on base ohmybeautybank account. Second, for the process of forming the abbreviations, there are twenty one preservation of the first letter of each component, eight data preservation of the first three letters of a word, three data preservation of the first four letters of a word, two data preservation of the first letter of the first word and the first letter of the second word of the compound word and three data preservation Irregular lettering.
