This research describes the process of designing and validating an instrument for evaluating teacher commitment that addresses the evaluation of the variable teacher commitment, identified as inherent to the achievement of student learning and key to quality education. The design of the scale contemplates the conceptualization of the commitment variable, based on its components: behavioral, cognitive and affective. Validation was obtained by expert judgment, in addition to statistical analysis with Kendall's W coefficient. In a first phase, the instrument was piloted with 42 teachers, later it was applied to the sample of 460 teachers from the municipalities of Nezahualcóyotl and Ecatepec de Morelos in the State of Mexico.
