A psychosoc iological approach to an ideology. In recent years, "the defence of French identity" has been an important theme of public debate in France. Through the analysis of a few of its expressions, we will focus on its stakes and its socio-cultural significations. The considered hypothesis entails a defensive withdrawal towards a historical and ideological tradition that was, in the past, one of the foundations of social cohesion. This withdrawal appears to be an answer to the identity crisis in identification reference points that is brought on by the current mutations, and particularly by immigration problems, by the internationalization of exchanges and by the construction of Europe.Ces dernières années, la "défense de l'identité ...
