SNAREs (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors) are central components that drive membrane fusion events during exocytosis and endocytosis and play important roles in different biological processes of plants. In this study, we identified 237 genes encoding SNARE family proteins in B. napus in silico at the whole-genome level. Phylogenetic analysis showed that BnaSNAREs could be classified into five groups (Q (a-, b-, c-, bc-) and R) like other plant SNAREs and clustered into twenty-five subclades. The gene structure and protein domain of each subclade were found to be highly conserved.
