In the last century, hydrogen has become very popular due to its high efficiency energyconversion by fuel cells. Al hydrolysis with alkaline solution provides fast and safe hydrogenproduction. It is possible to use Al alloys as an energy source by hydrogen gas generationfrom hydrolysis reactions. However, Al tends to be oxidized by Al-water reactions, resultingin an oxide film on the surface of Al metals, which negatively affects the hydrogen generationperformance. Therefore, several different processes can be used to reduce the negative effectof the oxide film on the hydrogen generation performance.
