Narasi Kekerasan Simbolik dan Malembaga dalam Novel Teror Moral Karya Ongky Arista UA

Symbolic violence is a method that is always used by the dominant class or the upper class in the social structure (institutional) of society to impose a mindset, culture, and lifestyle on the lower classes.The focus of this research is on how the shapethe symbolic violence of the characters in the Moral Terror novel, how to institutionalize the characters in the Moral Terror novel. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with the main instrument in the research is the researcher himself.The purpose of this study is to describe the symbolic violence and institutional violence that occur in the Moral Terror novel by Onky Arista UA. The focus of the research is 1) symbolic violence includes mechanismseuphemism; in the form of compassion, giving, and rejection. While the sensorization mechanism; in the form of the preservation of positive morals, honor, and courtesy. 2)institutionalized violence includes the mechanism of social habitus found in coastal island communities; in the form ofupper class habitus, lower class habitus.Keywords: Symbolic violence, Institutional violence, novel
