Bantuan hukum yang dimaksud yaitu apabila dalam permasalahan tersebut dapat dilakukan mediasi, maka akan dilakukan mediasi, jika permasalahan di bawa ke ranah pengadilan maka akan diberikan bantuan hukum seperti pengadaan tim hukum dari Rumah Sakit dr. M. Djamil Padang, atau dengan mendatangkan pengacara dari luar atau kemenkes. Setiap praktek kedokteran wajib mempunyai Rekam medik yaitu berkas yang berisikan catatan dan dokumen tentang identitas pasien, pemeriksaan, pengobatan, tindakan dan pelayanan lain yang telah diberikan kepada pasien. Kendala Yang Ditemukan Dalam Perlindungan Hukum Terhadap Profesi Dokter Dalam Melakukan Tindakan Medis Di Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Dr M.Djamil Padang adalah : 1) Dokter  tidak mempunyai media tempat keluhan dokter mengenai hak dan kewajiban dokter yang telah di atur dalam undang-undang kesehatan; 2) Kurangnya pengetahuan sebahagian dokter mengenai hak dan kewajiban sebagai dokter, bahwa hak dan kewajiban mereka telah diatur dalam undang-undang Kesehatan; 3) Standar Operasional Prosedur tidak up date atau memiliki tetapi tenaga medis tidak mencukupi waktunya untuk sosialisasi tentang SOP; 4)  standar mutu tenaga medis perlu di tingkatkan
