ABSTRACT This article deals with the implications of the coronavirus in the Brazilian prison system, with emphasis on the right to visit, which was restricted, aiming to protect individuals who attend penitentiary establishments, whether incarcerated or the agents who work in these places. The problematic of the study focuses on the following question: what are the implications of the Covid-19 pandemic in view of the right to visit inmates? The general objective is to analyze the implications of the Covid-19 pandemic in the Brazilian prison system, with emphasis on the right of inmates to visit in a closed regime situation.
