Internet en la dictadura, otro campo de batalla

Internet has connected almost everyone in the world and make it a more horizontal one, with more access to information and communication. However, countries with greater control of the State and its population see it as a threat to their nature and image. This is the case of Venezuela and Cuba, two countries labelled as dictatorships, with huge restrictions on freedoms and complaints about Human Rights violations. The “Law against Hate” (Ley contra el Odio) in the first case and Decree-Law 370 of 2018 in the second one have been created as regulatory mechanisms to extend their control to the Internet, allowing them to censor and persecute their opposition.El internet ha permitido conectar a casi todo el mundo y hacer de él uno más horizontal, democratizando el acceso a la información y a la comunicación. Sin embargo, países con un mayor control del Estado y de su población lo ven como una amenaza a su naturaleza e imagen.
