Rancangan Ruang Untuk Rumah Tinggal Penyandang Disabilitas Tuna Daksa

Disability is understood as a state of backwardness or physical, psychological, intellectual, and thinking limitations, which are different from normal humans. These limitations usually hinder the mobility of the disabled and require assistance from normal humans. To increase the self-confidence of the definable, we need a residential design solution suitable for disabled users. The activities that are often and routinely carried out by the disabled are at home, so the design for the definable house requires a structure that adapts to the ergonomics and space elements that can assist the movement and activities of the disabled. This study aims to produce a design concept for a definable residence which is described in terms of space elements that are used as a facilitator for the movement and activities of the disabled. The case study used is a physically handicapped disability. The method used is descriptive qualitative, which emphasizes the design of residential elements based on the characteristics of the disabled community, the education standard, and the form of space required for physically disabled persons. The final result of this research is the design of elements like a ramp, garage, bedroom, and bathroom.
