This presentation will define and illustrate domestic sacred spaces across several different cultures and religions which are important to establishing and maintaining a connection with the divine. Domestic sacred spaces come in a range of sizes, designs, and formats as well as from many cultural traditions. While it is true that there is much variety in sacred spaces of the home there are also common threads that are threaded through different practices. Examining how different cultures craft their spaces to interface with the divine is valuable in promoting intercultural understanding and encourages an examination of individual spiritual and religious practices
