The analysis of diffusion layers formed during nitriding in a glow discharge of 25-C 13-Cr 2-Ni martensitic steel produced by direct laser melting (DLM) is carried out. It is shown that in 24 hours at a temperature of 540 °C, a layer of 140 - 160 microns is formed in the sample obtained by the DLM method, which is 2 times larger than the layer formed in the same nitriding process on the same steel sample obtained by rolling with subsequent improvement. X-ray phase analysis revealed the strengthening phases in the nitrided layers: y' - and CrN nitrides.
