This paper presents a computer simulation focused on identifying the effect of cutting tool construction and damping material on its natural frequency. To this end, nine cutting tools with different cross-section of tool holder filled up with high damping material were presented. The free vibration analysis performed by ANSYS Workbench indicated that vibration amplitude decreases in cutting tools with epoxy-granite compared to that of conventional cutting tool. The relationship between the first and second natural frequencies with the length and diameter of the absorber chamber reveals that increase in diameter and length will reduce the natural frequency.
