The article is dedicated to the estimation of the market size of imports to the Russian Federation of certain products banned due to the implementation of the counter-sanctions measures introduced by the Government of Russia on August 7, 2014 which restrict imports from the United States, European Union, Canada, Australia and the Kingdom of Norway (also called -food embargo‖). The author gives calculations of the possible shortage in supplies of these products and the potential loss of the above mentioned trading partners.
