To help train municipalities and organizations staff in Long Island and the region to be prepared to protect life, infrastructure, and transportation systems from unforeseen events, the need for short-term, concise, and affordable staff-student training programs are necessary. Through literature review/searches and contacts with agencies, the framework for workforce training opportunities focused on the area of emergency preparedness was created.143
