Globalization in the 21st century has increased the awareness of psychological detachment from work during off-job time. Studies have shown the importance of psychological detachment as a promoter of recovery from job demands and stressful occurrences at work. In contemporary workplaces, job resources help to reduce the significance given to job demands, thus, mitigating their effects and, consequently, facilitating the recovery process. The present study analyses the relevance of job resources and demands in the process of psychological detachment, considering personal and organizational characteristics as mediators.
