The zinc borotellurite doped with dysprosium oxide glass samples with chemical formula {[(TeO ) (B O ) ] (ZnO) } (Dy O ) 2 0.7 2 3 0.3 0.7 0.3 1−x 2 3 x (where x=0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04 and 0.05 M fraction) were prepared by using conventional melt quenching technique. The structural and optical properties of the proposed glass systems were characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and UV–VIS spectroscopy. The amorphous nature of the glass systems is confirmed by using XRD technique.
