Erosion and sediment delivery have been undergoing considerable variations in many catchments worldwide owing to climate change and human interference. Monitoring on-site erosion and sediment deposition is crucial for understanding the processes and mechanisms of changes in sediment yield from the catchments. The Ten Kongduis (kongdui is the transliteration of ephemeral creeks in Mongolian) are 10 tributaries of the upper Yellow River.
