Identification of bovine livestock practices and their relationship with environmental factors for a proposal of sustainability guidelines in the municipality of Guamo -Tolima

Se realizó una tipificación del conjunto de factores ambientales de las áreas ganaderas del municipio, determinando que la geología está dada por las rocas de formación abanico de Guamo, relieve de abanico, precipitación anual de 1000 a 1500 mm, temperatura superior a los 26°C, con asociaciones de suelos Typic Ustorthents- Lithicudorthents- Typic Natrutalfs y prevalencia de la fase PWHab2, seguido de una caracterización de los sistemas ganaderos a partir de información suministrada por las entidades y la aplicación de la encuesta a 22 productores de 9 veredas, identificando que entre el 80% y 90% del área de los predios es destinada a la ganadería, 81.8% emplea la raza Cebú, 77.2% emplea pasturas de clima cálido, 90.9% realiza rotación de potreros y el 72.7% no emplean corrales estabulados.
