The conception of evaluation in physics teaching, it is approached as a process that takes into account diagnostic, formative and summative evaluation. As a contribution to this process, the design of a test of twenty-three selection questions is presented, which includes general and basic concepts of the academic program of the subject Electricity and Magnetism at the Universidad Antonio Nariño (UAN). In the design of the test, each one of the questions presents answer options that attempt to identify the physical models that the engineering students of the university have after taking a course in electricity and magnetism.
