IT system for detecting code smells using AI methods

Zapachy kodu wpływają negatywnie na jakość tworzonego oprogramowania. Utrudniają zarówno analizę kodu źródłowego, jak i wprowadzanie w nim zmian pozwalających na optymalizację lub naprawę systemu. Właśnie dlatego kluczowa jest wczesna detekcja zapachów kodu, która pozwoli na ich późniejsze usuniecie. W pracy magisterskiej przedstawiono sposoby detekcji dwóch najczęściej występujących zapachów kodu – long method oraz data class. W celu wykrycia wspomnianych zapachów kodu wykorzystane zostały dwa odmienne podejścia. Pierwsze z nich wykorzystuje ustalone wcześniej progi wartości metryk, a drugie metody sztucznej inteligencji (ang. artificial intelligence, AI). Dodatkowo, w ramach pracy magisterskiej stworzono i przedstawiono system informatyczny do wykrywania zapachów kodu, który zaprojektowany został zgodnie z architekturą mikroserwisową.Code smells negatively affect the quality of software development. They make it difficult, both to analyze the source code and to change it. Early detection of code smells is crucial for making the process of code refactoring easier and more manageable. The thesis presents ways to detect two most common code smells - long method and data class. Two different approaches were used to detect the code smells. The first one uses predetermined thresholds of metrics values, and the second one utilizes methods of artificial intelligence. In addition, as part of the thesis, the system for detection of code smells was developed and presented. Said system was designed in accordance with microservices architecture
