Temperature and light are intrinsically related to each other. Thermal radiation impacts temperature and temperature impacts optical properties of materials. The aim of this work is to use this relationship to radiatively cool down bodies on the one hand and to employ light for a novel temperature sensing method on the other hand. Over the course of the last years, the concept of passive radiative cooling has become a topic of considerable interest for applications in the context of thermal building management and energy saving.
