This audio recording features a church service at Central United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The service proceedings include songs (with performances from the Morris Brown College Choir), prayers (led by Joseph E. Lowery), the act of praise, a scripture lesson, and a sermon delivered by Lowery (at 00:34:05). In his sermon, Lowery speaks from the Gospel of Luke about "the good portion" and how while doing good is important, it is not enough in itself. The recording ends just as Lowery's sermon transitions into the singing of a hymn.
