Chiral circularly polarized (CP) light is central to many photonic technologies, from optical communication of spin information to novel display and imaging technologies. As such, there has been significant effort in the development of chiral emissive materials that allow for the emission of strongly dissymmetric CP light from organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). A consensus for chiral emission in such devices is that the molecular chirality of the active layer determines the favored light handedness of CP emission, regardless of the light-emitting direction.
