International audienceOpioid use disorder is a devastating disorder with a high burden in terms of overdose mortality, with an urgent need for more personalized prevention or therapeutic interventions. For this purpose, the description and validation of biological measures of staging or treatment response is a highly active research field. We conducted a narrative review on the pathophysiology of opioid use disorder to propose staging of the disease and search for research studies proposing or demonstrating the predictive value of biomarkers.
