International audienceThe functional and architectural benefits of embryonic stem cells (ESC) and myoblasts (Mb) transplantations into infarcted myocardium have been investigated extensively. Whereas ESC repopulated fibrotic areas and contributed to myocardial regeneration, Mb exerted their effects through paracrine secretions and scar remodeling.
