Werner Syndrome (WS) is an autosomal recessive disease which is characterized by accelerated aging phenotypes, such as short stature, dyslipidemia, the loss of subcutaneous fat, and premature atherosclerosis. The mutations of WRN gene are currently the only causes reported associated with WS. However, precisely how do WRN mutations cause the WS pathologies are still unclear.
