The Sanctuary of Santa Venera was located ouside the South fortification of the ancient Greek city of Paestum, at today thrown up due to lack of funds, falls within the area of brownfield site of Cirio factory. The area, which was acquired by the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Salerno, has been included within the "Feasibility study for the creation of the Archaeological Park of Paestum", developed with CIPE funds from the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, which discusses a number of interventions for the promotion of cultural heritage, such as the excavation and museum display of the sanctuary through the demolition of part of the industrial buildings.
